Install a Topaz Signature Pad

So you’ve purchased a new signature pad, how do you set it up to work with Quest? First, don’t plug it into your computer quite yet. Follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall all Topaz software:
    • Click on your windows button, and go to your control panel.
    • Go to Programs, then click on uninstall programs.
    • Search for anything with the word Topaz, and uninstall it.
  2. Plug your signature pad into your computer
  3. Download the Topaz Sigweb software from https://www.topazsystems.com/sigweb.html.
    • Click on the Download SigWeb Installer button. This will download the software.
    • To keep SigWeb up-to-date, download the latest version or use the SigWeb Certificate Updater (run as administrator).
  1. After downloading it, go to your downloads file. YOU MUST right-click on the executable and choose Run as administrator.
  1. You will be asked to put in your signature pad model number which can be found on the bottom of your signature pad.
  2. You can test the software by going to https://www.gawquest.com/sign.jsp.
    • You should be able to sign at top
    • Press the Save button
    • See a bunch of text in the middle of the screen and your signature at the bottom.
  3. Open Quest and capture your signature

Menu | Miscellaneous | Local | Local Options

Click on Capture Signature

Sign your name.
Click the Update button to save signature.
Click the Refresh button to try again.

You can sign on a signature pad, a tablet with a touch screen, a smart phone, or even using a mouse on a normal computer although that should be the last resort.
