Codefendants/Associated Cases

This area allows you to add and view people who were arrested together, or cases that are associated with each other, and quickly jump to the associated case. Examples of associated cases could be a juvenile with a delinquency and a chins case. A paternity case and a delinquency or chins case. An adult parent on probation and a juvenile with a delinquency or a chins case. Siblings could be associated cases.

FROM THE CASE DETAIL SCREEN:

• Codefendants are added automatically by the system based on the INCIDENT ID#. Every person with the same Incident ID# will be listed a Codefendant on the other’s case. See Incidents.
• If you need to manually add a codefendant or an associated case, click on the ADD.

To add a codefendant or associated case:

• Association type: Select the appropriate type.
• Associated case: Click on GET NAME and do a name search on the person you wish to associate. How to Get Name
• Case: Select the appropriate case.

Click on the UPDATE button or press ALT+U to save your changes.

You can quickly switch to the associated case by clicking the See Case link.
